Friday night a reception was held in the Tradewinds with an opportunity for all to come together for a great time of socializing. A video of old pictures from the past and the class annual was projected on a large screen as a backdrop of rememberances. Afterwards many of the class went out to eat together as they continued their enjoyment of the night.
Saturday morning and afternoon provided an opportunity to visit some of the sites around Beaumont and continued time together. That afternoon many gathered in the Veranda Room to decorate and prepare for the dinner that night.
Saturday night was a great time together with a reception and a class picture being taken prior to the dinner. After an excellent buffet with a choice of three entrees, the meal was topped off with peach cobbler, cheese cake and a delicious chocolate cake.
The program after the dinner was a fun time with many of our classmates coming to the microphone to tell humorous stories and relating tales of the high school happenings. These were great stories with many participating.
The evening concluded with a memorial rememberance of classmates who have passed on. We have lost so many and it was good to recall their memory as their name was read and a candle lit in their honour.
Sunday morning the class traveled to Lake Charles, La. and the home of Gene and Shively Lampson. Their home overlooks Lake Charles with a beautiful view of the water. This for many of us was the high light of the reunion. A wonderful brunch had been prepared for all to enjoy. The weather was just right to be able to enjoy the garden atmosphere around the pool and the spacious home where we could come together once more.
It became quite obvious everyone was having a great time as talk began as to when we were going to have another reunion. It appears from all the subsequent emails that there is great interest in having another gathering before our typical 5 years. Talk is of having a 70th birthday party for all to come together and enjoy.
Soooooo..... as soon as some of us recoup from this reunion, I suppose we will start planning for a birthday party... : )
Hurrican Ike has left his footprint throughout southeast Texas that for sure. Most I have heard from faired pretty well. One of our classmates who lived in Crystal Beach lost everything. Her home was washed out into the Gulf. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mary Jo as she deals with this ordeal. If you have a story to tell be sure and post a message on the site. /P> * *

You are visitor number
A special thanks to all of you who have taken the time to leave a message for others to read. Your participation in the website is sincerely appreciated. Please don't be bashful about signing the Guest Book. This is a "just for fun" type of website and it makes it more enjoyable for all when we can look and see who has been by the site. Just as you enjoy seeing who has stopped by and left a message... others would like to hear from you... Simply click below and leave your message. Note that there are two Guest Books to view. The old Guest Book dates back to the beginning of the site several years ago and has lots of entries. Many of those who left messages in previous years are no longer with us. Read again and remember the memories. I have had to go to an "approval" procedure before your message is posted as we were getting so many "trash" advertizing postings.
Thanks for your helping make this a source of enjoyment for all...
David
