Candles and Bells
BY Lisa Sculley
I see the candles burning bright,
And I remember the light
In your bright eyes...
And I miss you.
I hear the bells jingling their glad song,
And I remember the music
Of your laughter ...
And I miss you.
For every Christmas sound and smell,
There sadly, sweetly, I recall,
Some essence of you ...
And I miss you.
For every Christmas story told,
I wonder if you hear
And know....
I miss you.
And every time a small tot grins
As he hops on Santas big lap,
I remember Christmass past ...
And I miss you.
I wonder how that First Christmas will be,
When we are together at last,
And I no longer have to say,
I miss you.
And so I watch the bright candles glow,
And hear the joyous bells toll,
And know that one day...
I will no longer miss you.
Merry Christmas, Bright Eyes, I miss you.
Your Mom
