No one can be humble on purpose - as an act of the will.
To make this point, try worshipping a chair. Knowing
that the chair is NOT your superior - can you humble
yourself to it?
Humility is the natural result of recognizing Superiority.
Without that recognition, humility cannot result.

All too often in churches, at spiritual rallies, and at
youth Bible camps, those present are asked to "make a
decision for the Lord," - to make Y'shua Mashiyach Jesus
"Lord of your life," without having met the need to know
WHY He deserves this central place in our lives. What is
needful is a certainty of the worthiness of the Person
Jesus to displace the ego-person of self. Until that need
is met - can humility result?

When the Superiority of Jesus and His Worthiness is made
known, the hearer will freely choose Him as Lord. That
is humility. Humility and Submission is the natural result
of recognizing Worthiness - His Worthiness.
Making known His Superiority and Worthiness is our major
task.
Jesus said, "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will
draw all men unto me." John 12:32

"Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary
humility...which things have indeed a shew of wisdom
in will worship, and humility,..." Colossians 2:18-23.
