It is easy to see how Iapetos, and Iapetus, could pass to the Greek from this. Likewise, in the ancient Sanskrit Pra-Japati, is a direct transposition with a prefix, the "J" being a variant of "I". Iupater, and Jupiter are further Romanizations of the same root word, though they deemed it as Iu-Pater, Father Jove.
