UNIT INFORMATION PAGE
The goal of our unit is to accurately portray the typical combat infantryman of a unit such as the 36th Motorized Rifle Division as he fought during the time period of July 1939 to December 1942
The tactical events we attend are the main focus of our group. Many of these events utilize The Graef System
or similar rules. Our hobby is more than just "playing army", it is a serious attempt to recreate the tactical challenges the Soviet WWII infantryman faced, while representing his appearance as accurately as possible.
TO PARTICIPATE IN THESE TACTICAL EVENTS AND TO BECOME A MEMBER OF OUR UNIT, ONE MUST DO THE FOLLOWING:
- 1. JOIN A WWII RE-ENACTMENT ORGANIZATION.
- Membership to a recognized WWII re-enactment organization is always required for admission to an event. Most of our unit members belong to the Tactical Studies Group (TSG), which charges a $15 annual fee. A portion of this fee goes toward providing members insurance while attending events.
- 2. REQUEST AND RETURN A 36TH MOTORIZED RIFLE DIVISION APPLICATION
- Our unit requires an application from each prospective member along with a $10 initial fee (refundable if application is not approved). Since we are a "tactical" unit, participating only at events in our local region, we will not approve applications from individuals who will not attend these events. Approved members receive reproduction "Rifles" collar insignia and a quarterly subscription to the unit newsletter. Annual dues are only $5 for continued membership. Request An Application
- 3. OBTAIN AN ACCURATE RED ARMY MAN IMPRESSION
- The list of requirements and items to accurately portray the Red Army Man of the 36th Motorized Rifle Division are available by following this link: Uniform & Equipment Requirements Expect to spend at least $500 to be properly equipped for a Summer tactical.
