Running Back To You
By J.R. Jamison

Your name was the sweetest name I ever heard,
and when we met we said we would never part.
I gave you all of my love,
but you took from me my heart.

Your love is like claws, you ripped my heart in two,
but I always come running back to you.

I promised my friends you were gone for good,
but then you smiled upon me, and said, "I missed you."
Like a love sick fool, I ran back to you.

So many times I cried over you,
saying I would never go back,
but then you call my name,
and I go running back.

Just the other day when I reached my destination back to your heart,
I knew for sure it was now we would never part.

But now I have been put aside like an old doll for something new,
You broke my heart once again, and hurt me too.

But I realized I love you.
So now I find myself running back to you.
