2-26-98 Many people, at many instances in their life, complain that there is never a cop around when "ya need one". Well, I am here to argue on behalf of cops everywhere. Today, on my way home from Redlands, I arrived at a train crossing and the gates were down. I, being the Eagle Scout that I am, stopped. The train was going unbelievably slow but I NEVER try to "beat the train". However, two idiots behind me decided that they were above the law and went around the gates. Too bad for them...

By, what I believe to be total luck, a motorcycle cop was hiding in the bushes on the other side of the gates! He pulled out directly in front of the first car to cross (the second car was following the first) and ordered them to stop. They both pulled over to the side and the cop immediately began writing tickets. I was laughing so hard in my car that the truck driver behind me started looking at me funny. I rolled my window down and screamed at with all the air I could find, "THAT'S WHAT YOU GET, YOU MORONS!" I know it was a bit harsh but idiots like that deserve it.

This just goes to show, it doesn't pay to break the law. The two dipsticks who thought they were above the law will now have to pay a HUGE fine for their ignorance. They may have beat the train, but the law beat them....I'm reminded of a song that goes something like, "I fought the law, and the law won!"
