When We Fall
Silver moonlight
splashing across the darkened bedroom,
guides me with breathless expectation.
Your dimly lit silouhette revealed,
I move slowly to face your haunting beauty.
The curtains shiver ever slightly,
with the soft evening breeze,
playing shawdows across your figure,
rippling like waves on a satiny shoreline.
Dead silence fills the room,
yet I feel an incessant pounding.
It is my heart.
Blood pumps furiously through my veins,
reverberating now in my ears.
A tear forms slowly,
misting my vision,
yet enhancing this moment of wonder.
Tenderly,
as not to even move a whisp of air,
I reach for your
pale
bare
shoulders.
A sudden strong gust of air lashes at the window,
my eye catches the disrupting curtain's flailing.
In a heartbeat,
you
are
Gone!
An angry crack of thunder..
rattles in mock laughter through the room,
as I bolt upright in my empty bed.
Another dream!
Another vision?
They get more vivid each time.
You become more real my love.
When we fall,
it will be,
forever!
