I'm sitting down to write this newsletter after two glorious
weeks holidaying in Lennox Heads, on the north coast of NSW. Thanks
to the Goddess and God for the beautiful weather, great beaches,
good food and good company. I'm pretty relaxed right now, and looking
forward to what the next half of the wheel of the year has in store
for me. I hope that if you had time off over Litha that you feel as
relaxed as I do.
I'm extremely proud to announce that I was blessed to witness the
birth of me first niece, a healthy 7 pounds 7 ounces. It was very
difficult to come home after seeing such a wondrous event. Anitra is
just beautiful and I wish them both the best of health and happiness
in the coming years together.
In my backyard, the apricot tree has finished fruiting, and the
bats and birds have gorged themselves on the remaining fruit in the
last month. The wysteria has also finished flowering and has started
to pile the leaves on for its final summer growth phase, before it
loses all its leaves again in Autumn. While I was away I saw many
native Rosellas eating the seeds in the grass, I saw a couple of
brown snakes sunning themselves on bush tracks (a reminder to be
careful when walking), and many native wattles in flower. The range
of Australian Wattles never fails to amaze me, and I'm sure I see
new varieties everywhere I go. What's happening on your balcony, or
in your backyard this season?
