Cyber Service

I admit it, sometimes I can be slack when it comes to performing rituals or celebrating a Sabbat. But I like to think that the God and Goddess will let that go because I show my feelings towards them in other ways, in the form of Service. I am a practical person, I was also brought up in a political household. I've been to many a demo in my life. Now, with Paganism becoming a more important part of my life I turn my energies towards that aspect of my life.

I see Service, in whatever form, as an important contribution to the overall Pagan community. To this end, I am currently Print Media Liaison Officer for the Pagan Alliance. In this capacity, I am responsible for helping others to get a real indication of what my faith is about, to try to counter-act some of the misconceptions about Paganism and to be a voice for the Pagan community when the Media gets the wrong end of the stick. I also maintain several web sites. PA NSW has a web site, which features the articles, recipes and items of interest contained in the print version of the newsletter. My personal site, Stella Australis, has media articles, legal information, links to other Pagan sites and other material of general interest to the Australian Pagan community. An important part of this site is information about being Pagan in Australia. It covers such things as directions and the Sabbats, and issues surrounding dates and correspondences. I feel that an important service I can provide is to give access to relevant information to people who may not otherwise be able to get it. And NovaPagan, a site specifically about Pagan activities in Newcastle and the Hunter. It has information on events, contacts, supplies and news. It was important in the formation of an ongoing Pagan group in Newcastle.

I don't think I have the qualities one needs to be a counselor, or a bard, so I give service to the God and Goddess in the best way I can, by providing information, networking and resources to people and by helping get information to those who want it.
