Welcome again to the Lughnasadh edition of your NSW newsletter. Summer has been slow to heat up this season, with weather predictors saying it is our wettest and coolest summer for a few years. This is interesting, given these same experts claim that the 80’s and 90’s were the two hottest summers since records started being kept. This summer, though, it’s a relief not to be rationing water (which is different to using water wisely). Our garden is the greenest, and has the most bromeliads in bloom I have ever seen.

The local bird life this year has also enjoyed the abundance of the season. Our cuckoo is getting much bigger, and whilst still receiving food from the wattle birds, its flying much better and further on its own.

During December, I was lucky enough to again spend some time climbing Mount Warning on the far north coast of NSW. This was my second climb of the mountain, and it’s a rainforest that just gets more and more stunning. The size and height of the trees are quite unbelievable. With my climbing partner, we were lucky enough to see some brush turkeys and even a bandicoot!

It is with great enthusiasm that PA nsw can announce, that in a joint effort with representatives from the PA nsw, Pagan Awareness Network, Applegrove and Sydney Wiccans, that there is now a Sydney Pagans in the Pub! Check for details in the events column, and come along!

What’s happening in your backyard or on your balcony this season?

Blessed Be
