Hecate, who lived in the Greek underworld, is sometimes associated with the dark of the moon.

Sunset is another good time to perform banishing rituals.

Widdershins is the direction associated with banishings. Widdershins means ‘counter sun wise’. Deosil is the term used to describe movement in a ‘sunwise’ direction, and is associated with constructive energy. Both directions are udes in circle casting and banishing.
