Fan Fiction from and for the

The purpose of this ring is to link together websites and/or pages that contain Fan Fiction involving characters from the TV show "Xena: Warrior Princess". Anyone is welcome to submit their site for adding to the ring. If your site and/or page meets the guidelines below just simple fill out the form below and send it. About the Ring and its Policies

The Alternative Scrolls of the Bard Web Ring has been created for fans of the TV show "Xena: Warrior Princess" who enjoy reading fan fiction based on the show.

Site Content Guidelines and Policy:

For the purpose of this ring, Fan Fiction has been defined as any original collection of words about or including any characters as shown on the TV shows "Xena:Warrior Princess" and "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys". These may include prose, poetry, scripts, filks, parodies, skits, and etc.

Fan Fiction sites/pages submitted to the ring must be of an "alternative nature". The word alternative means fan fictions that explore the "subtext" of X:WP that leads to Xena and Gabrielle being bisexual and/or lesbian. Of course, it is not limited to a homosexual relationship between Xena and Gabrielle, any pairing you can think of is welcome as long it is of a homosexual element. If you are a fan fiction webmaster and have a separate index of alternative fan fiction linked to your main fan fiction index, you are welcome to submit the main index to "Scrolls of the Bards" Ring and the alternative fan fiction index to this ring.

Fan Fiction containing cross-over plots are eligible as long as there is significant Xena/Herc content. For example, a 14 page story with only 3-4 lines of reference to a character or other allusion to the series would not be enough to merit submission to the ring.

Site and/or page must contain some Xena/Hercules-related Fan Fiction content. Signposts to and/or Link Listings of other sites with fan fiction are not eligible for submission.

The URL submitted to the ring must be or contain one of the following:

The HTML Fragment for the ring's navigational bar must be place on the URL submitted for the ring.

There is no limit (minimum or maximum) to the number of pieces of fan fiction you may submit to the ring, provided that each piece is contained on a separate page and that you put the navigational HTML for the ring of each page.

The above guidelines have been established and are necessary in order to provide the best browsing and exposure for everyone, Webmasters and Fan Fiction Readers alike!

HTML Code and Graphics for the Ring

The HTML block code needed to establish the Ring on your page will be sent to you when you add your site to the Queue. Also it is not necessary to download the graphics, you may link to the graphics here as has been done in the HTML code you will receive. I have no problem with people linking directly to the images here. Otherwise, it is up to you to change the URLs for the images and put the images on your site.

A Special Note: for those webmasters that feel brave. If you want a really jazzy navigational bar, check this out. This alternate version of the bar utilizes Javascript so you must be using NS 3.0 or higher for it to work. I will soon be posting the complete instructions on how to install this kewl version on your page.
