Oh no, not a Hoosier...

	So, here I am in Denver, Colorado...since May '98, and I lovelovelove it. Doing the consulting thang -- software programming (PeopleSoft). I'm originally from North Webster, Indiana -- an eensy-weensy town (like pop.800), northern area, right between Ft. Wayne and South Bend. Alternative, pop shit, R&B, rap, new age, retro, euro-trash, techno/dance, international, singer-songwriter, classical...love it all, except country (blech!), and I've tried to open up to it, really.

Sarah McLachlan, 10,000 Maniacs, Blake Babies, NIN, Rage, Tori Amos, Everything But the Girl, Sineád Lohan, Sineád O'Connor, DM, They Might Be Giants, Duncan Sheik, James, the Innocence Mission, Jonatha Brooke, Incubus. Enya, King Missile, Vivaldi, Loreena McKennitt, Madonna, Steve Miller, Luka Bloom, Gigi (she's Ethiopian I think), Deee-Lite. R&B/rap has been my poison lately though (like India Arie, Joe, 2Pac, Da Brat, Too Short, D'Angelo)...can't get enough (plus, you can *feeeeel* the bass...love that).

	I luuvvvvv to read but I'm a slow reader, sucks to be me. So naturally, I tend towards short stories...like the fiction in The New Yorker magazine.
J.D. Salinger is awesome, and T.Coreghessan Boyle...hmm, I must like sarcasm? And science fiction like Neal Stephenson ("Snow Crash"), but I'm terribly, insanely, humongously pokey with that sort of reading, argh!!!

Why I don't get back to Indiana much...

Indiana:	flat, boring, conservative, lots of close-minded people, 90% small towns, humid/cloudy/icy/rainy
Colorado:	awesome scenery, lots of , nice fluffy , relatively diverse people (well OK, a bit lacking in cultural diversity, but at least people don't think twice, for instance, about interracial couples walking down the street).

Anything else?

I like to hit the slopes occasionallly, but that only happens once or twice a year prolly. I've done a little rock climbing. Just got my yellow belt in Tae Kwon Do. Am a purple fuh-reak. And besides playing around with this crazy website, I get tangibly creative too (drawing/painting/beading/cooking/reading/drinking beer/etc).

OH! Und, ich spreche ein bischen Deutsch. Ich war Austauschschuelerin in Nuernberg fuenf Wochen, und ich habe vier Jahre Deutsch gelernt. By the way, Pfirsich is german for peach (I have this neato pfirsich flavored HubbaBubba wrapper from germany...click on it to see the full size).
