Meeting Our Officers

My name is Jon Smallwood. I am 17 years old, and a senior at NCH. I am currently the president of troupe 269. I also hold two offices in student council: Vice President overall and secretary of my class. Being president of this troupe has brought me a lot closer to people from my school. Our troupe is a group of people that you would never consider would hang out, and I am proud to be a part of it! We do a lot of during school and even more outside of school.

This year we had our first 'Theatre Open House'. During this, people who were not current thespians, learned the many ways that they could be involved. Their are only a few people that I thought would be attending this, but our school proved me to be wrong. We had at least thirty people show up. All of our officers were very, very excited. I think if we would have done this years ago and continued it, our troupe would have more members in it. So, to all you thespian officers out their: TRY IT! You'll have a great turn out!

FOR THE PEOPLE:

To all freshman, sophomores, juniors, middle school:

Do everything you possibly can to get involved during your school years, because before you know it, you are a senior trying yo cram a lot of stuff in!

THANKS! Jon Smallwood

President troupe 269

Hi, my name is Maria Seta, and I'm currently a sophomore at NCH HS. I am the historian of Troupe 269. I really enjoy being an officer of our troupe. Being an officer, I think we have a lot more responsibility, a lot of say in what goes on, and are expected to be leaders of the troupe. I feel more respected since I have become an officer. The officers have become very close, like the brother/sister feel, knowing that we can count on each other. Troupe 269 is my most favorite interest. I love the family-feel of the troupe, and how the theatre is like our second home. I am happy that, within our troupe, the old and the new members are very dedicated. The seniors that graduated last year, all left the troupe feeling loved. Through theatre, I've met some of the greatest people and best friends ever. Kyle, our sponsor/director, is very dependable. He's always concerned about us and has been there for me through a lot, and he doesn't know how much that means to me and the troupe. He's the 'adult-figure' in the troupe, yet, he is so much like us.

Outside of theatre, I'm the 2nd vice president of student council and tresurer of my class. I also, this past year, was a member of the HS lady trojan soccer team. I'm a certified black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and spend as much time as I can at youth group ans youth group activities. I travel a lot, and I love meeting new people !!

FOR THE PEOPLE:

Follow your heart, it won't ever lead you wrong. Trust in God in all you do. And, STAY INVOLVED, because high goes too fast!

THANKS!! Maria Seta Historian troupe 269
