Adventurine: Increases perception and creative insight. Stimulates opportunity and motivation. Generally a greenish color. Flaws may change color significantly, much like quartz. Healing, peace, calming, luck, joy, balance, clarity. Affects the heart chakra and the thymus gland. Because of this, it can stimulate resolution of the casual pictures gained during early childhood which generate anxieties and fears during the present time.

Agate: Aid in restoration of energy, used in healing, and believed to bring wearer happiness, wealth, health, and long life. Increases ability to ward off self-induced anger and inner bitterness. Carnelian-gives protection and energy. Moss green-balances emotional energy. Strong earth connections. Moss red-balances physical energy. Blue lace-gives tranquility, healing, riches, happiness, longevity, friends.

Amazonite: Generally white/pink/green/blue. Facilitates clearer vision of one's own harmful tendencies making them easier to release. Chakra:throat.

Amber: Powerful healing stone with large amount of organic energy. Amber has strong solar connections. Generally a gold color. Luck, healing, strength, beauty, love. Strengthens the effects of nearly any spell; a highly versatile stone, magickally speaking. A protector of health and vitality.

Amethyst: Increases spiritual awareness, has a calming and soothing influence, has the ability to transmute negative into positive, and is very effective as a healing stone. Ancients believed that amethyst would prevent intoxication. Generally a purple color. Peace, de-stressing, calms fears, emotional storms. Induces dreams, sharpens psychic awareness and mental powers. Use for divining, dream-work, relaxing into receptivity.

Apache Tears : Grounding. Transforms and aids in the release of lower emotions.

Aquamarine: Calms nervous tension. Calming effects of the sea. Used to help banish fears and phobias. Means seawater. Soothing and cleansing. Generally a blue-green color. Tranquility, soothes the heart, inspires compassion.

Azurite: Powerful healing stone, invokes spiritual guidance, opens psychic eye. Good for dreams and improving psychic ability. Psychic powers, dreams, divination, meditation, development of intuition, understanding and communication.

Bloodstone: Removes emotional blockages. Generally a murky black-green color with red threads. Strength, self-confidence, physical healer, mental balancer, removes toxins from blood. Opens and aligns the heart and base chakras. The etheric body is strengthened and more closely integrated with the physical body. This causes a balancing of the blood flows and circulatory system.

Blue Celestite: Detachment, clear perspective, divine inspiration.

Citrine: Stimulates openness and accelerates the awakening of the mind. Protection, psychic awareness, creativity, dispels nightmares. Bridge between higher and lower consciousness; transmutes fear.

Coppper: Aligns the lower five chakras and opens the heart. The highly conductive nature of copper it stimulates the electro- magnetic properties of the physical and subtle bodies.

Garnet: Heat, fire, passion. Generally a dark red color. Strength, vitality, endurance, sexual energy, kundalini, blood. Aggressively protective. Use for courage, physical strength, when exerting oneself, or to boost the power of other stones.

Gold: Is a great balancer of the heart chakra and the thymus gland, which presides over the functions of the immune system. Gold is a universal symbol of value in the collective subconscious, and promotes healing at a very deep level.

Heliodor (Golden Beryl): Spiritual development.

Hematite: Calming to the emotions. Worn as an amulet to confer strength and procur favorable legal judgements. Helps maintain balance between body, mind, and spirit. Generally a reflective black-gray color.

Ivory: Spiritual protection. Generally an off-white color.

Jasper: Healing, health, beauty, protection.

Jade: Stimulates practicality, wisdom, and universal attunement. Thought to provide a link between the spiritual and the mundane. Highly revered by the Chinese-in fact, they believed that jade would prevent decay. Can be almost any color, but is most often found as green. Jet: Helps to confront darker aspects of self and nature. Generally dark in color.

Kyanite: Truth and honesty.

Onyx: Stabilizing. Mirrors all aspects of the self, dark as well as light. Transformative, protective. (Element of fire.) Generally a dark or black color. Variations are relatively common.

Opal: Mercury. Links physical body to higher bodies, allowing greater access to cosmic consciousness. Keep away from other stones, as it will absorb all energy. A stone of hope, positive actions, achievements and love.

Paua Shell: Neptune. Aids one in accessing the subconscious for emotional and artistic inspiration.

Pearl: Used to focus attention, helps pull together mental and spiritual forces, peace of mind. Folklore associates pearls with tears. Generally a whitish color, though black pearls and pearls with another cast are often found. Venus. Purity, chastity, emotional clarity. Promotes antibodies and fights infection. Stimulates your femininity and helps with self-acceptance. Give a pearl to a child to help him or her grow in beauty, especially a little girl.T hough of animal origin, it is another gemstone which helps to balance and spirtualize the emotions. This is because the pearl has a strong connection with the moon and its cycles.

Peridot: Dispels fears, guilt, and depression. Used to counteract negative emotions and healing of the spirit. Once worn as a means of gaining foresight and divine inspiration. Generally a light green color. Creates feeling of protection, allowing heart to open. Completely aligns all the subtle bodies. This helps one receive information from the higher self more easily. Good stone for channeling.

Petrified wood: Restores physical energy, helps hip and back problems. Ground and secures you, aids in preventing work stress. Restores your physical energy.

Pyrite: "Fool's Gold". Reflective goldish color. Mars. Vitality, strengthening of Will. Enhances mental capacity and attracts money to owner. Has protecting, shielding aspect for physical, mental, emotional levels. Shields from negative energy, strengthens circulatory system, clears oxygen in the blood. Helps to strengthen the astral body and is a digestive aid for the abdomen and upper intestinal tract. It is best worn by the throat chakra.

Quartz: Amplifies the healing energy of the one using it. A good stone for meditating on. Works primarily with the Third Eye center, also relates well with the heart center. Very potent and often worn to protect from negative vibrations. Cleanse regularly. Rudilated-rutile needles help focus attention. Smoky-good for calming the mind. Ruby: Increases vigor, renews vitality. The stone of courage. Can be found in almost any color, due to flaws in the stone.

Rhodochrosite: Energy, love, peace. Mercury, Venus. Holds any force field. Draws white light into the physical body. Rhodonite: Restores physical energy, especially following trauma or shock, another rescue stone. Attracts or keeps a loving partner. Pink stone with black highlights-very defined.

Rhyolite: Rejuvenates physical beauty. Physical and emotional stabilizer.

Rubelite (Red): Romance, passion.

Sapphire: Aids spiritual understanding. Stone of destiny. Contributes to your mental clarity, perception and wisdom.

Selenite: Soothing, nurturing, inspirational. Moon.

Sugilite: Psychic powers, spirituality, healing wisdom.

Sunstone: Projective. Element: Fire. Aventurine feldspar with gold-orange metallic sheen. Warms the heart and lifts/rejuvinates the spirit. Protection, life force, grounding. Energy, health and sexual energy.

Tanzanite: Clear, blue-purple-violate Zoisite crystal. (Use clear ones for healing meditation.) Placed on brow, it powerfully opens brow plus Crown centers for clairaudience, visions, spiritual connectedness, protection, manifesting. Helps expand our physical and mental seeing, hearing, hair, skin.

Tiger Eye: Very powerful protection, clarity of thought. Generally a banded fibrous brown/yellow/gold color.

Tiger Iron: A blend of hematite,red jasper, and tiger eye. Stregthens nerves, influences legs, liver. Assists one in manifesting dreams/ideas without hesitation or procrastination.

Tourmaline: Causes the wearer to be more flexible, more understanding and more objective in purpose and reason. Calming. Promotes psychic experiences. Generally a banded purple/green/blue color.

Tsavorite (Green Garnet): Meditation, patience, serenity, peace.

Turquoise: Vibrates calming radiations, protective,and restores healthy mental attitude. Stone of friendship. Balancing and healing. Great strength and vitality. Often used in metalworking by Native Americans. Generally a blueish color. Helps manifest spiritual qualities on the physical plane. Luck, protection, courage, money, love, friends, healing.

Thulite: Avocado green with patches of pinkish red. Balances the four lower chakras. These are often thought the most difficult to bring into line as they affect our desires, sensuality, will and emotions. A creators dream as focusing on Thulite brings one quickly into altered states of consciousness with the ability to perceive inspiration when presented. Aids in answering questions involving love and logic. Has been used successfully for fertility.

Ulexite: White/Translucent. Insight into self and others; seeing solutions to difficulties. Somewhat 3rd eye opening. Some find it helpful for amplifying dreams, imagination, imagery, fantasy states for creativity (not recommended if addictive or escapism tendency.) May fall apart if soaked in water.

Unakite: Personal power. Taking charge of one's life. Guardian of fate, protection, leadership. Power used with gentleness, charismatic, enhances visions and journeying, balances the emotional body, rebirthing, unlocks blockages and allows release. Healing: Used to discover the root causes of disease or malfunction, balances weight distribution to desired places.

Variscite: Solid cool, pale green. eases depression, fear, worry, anxiety, impatience, stress of a hectic/pressured day by bringing calm and stillness to even the most busy/talkative mind, thus a good meditation stone.

Wavellite: Light green. Opens the heart chakra for clearing the emotional body. Provides understanding for emotional issues and help with healing them. Excellent for detoxifying.

Wulfenite: Translucent yellow to red, mostly orange crystal. Invigorates and harmonizes emotions, passion, appetite. Warms and grounds. Helps us get in touch with feelings. Used for healing and warming reproductive chakra (especially women's). Spleen and yellow chakras, and digestion/nutrition assimilation. Cleanses and uplifts emotions, muddiness, stuckness or imbalance in spleen chakra. Orange - develops will. Reduces confusion in relationships. Overcomes limitations. A stone of transition. Used frequently for magick.

Zircon: All colors. Clear, colorless, natural form: Works with the crown chakra and transpersonal point (and pituitary and pineal) for Universal Truth, intuition, durability, steadiness, integrity and connection with "All That Is." Eases depression, insomnia. Also historical poison detoxifier. Man-made (cubic Zirconia or "CZ") is not nearly as strong/effective as natural. "Pink Ice" is pink CZ.

Zoisite: Green with red streaks of ruby. For trust in the universe, releasing fears. Strengthens heart, energy/adrenals and reproductive chakra. General health.
