I.	Preparation

	A.	Knowing the Lord

		1.	You really can't introduce someone to a person you don't know.

			a.	Andrew went and found his brother Peter and invited him to come meet Jesus


				(1)	Do you know the Lord?  Are you walking with him?

	B.	Knowing the Word

		1.	Peter wrote, "always be ready to give a reason for the hope that is within you."

		2.	Being ready means knowing the Word of God.

		3.	What is the basis of your faith.  What do you believe?

	C.	Pray

		1.	Evangelism begins with prayer

		2.	The Holy Spirit converts - not you

		3.	Do you have a prayer list?


	D.	Knowing some tools

		1.	Today I brought with me "Steps To Peace With God."

		2.	Other tools include "Four Spiritual Laws."

		3.	The Roman Road

			a.	Rom 3:16 All have sinned

			b.	Rom 6:16 The wages of sin is death but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus.

			c.	Rom. 10:   If we believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths.


	E.	Knowing your motives - some motives are not helpful, some are.

		1.	whose benefit are you seeking - yours or theirs?

		2.	Seeking the lost

		3.	desire to give others a wonderful gift

		4.	Spiritual Headhunting

		5.	Getting more people in church 

	F.	knowing the person

		1.	gaining the right to witness

		2.	learning the person's needs

			a.	How will Christ meet this person's needs?

			b.	How will Christ's Church meet this person's needs?


II.	Presentation

	A.	Presenting the Gospel

		1.	God loves you

		2.	All have sinned

		3.	Christ died for our sins

		4.	Each person must personally invite Christ to come in

	B. Are you comfortable telling others the story?
III.	Invitation

	A.	Often we tell the story but don't offer an invitation

		1.	fear of being turned down.

		2.	fear of seeming pushy

	B.	dealing with objections

		1.	questions and challenges

		2.	learning to recognize real objections from stalls

		3.	"I'm not ready. Maybe later."

	C.	Inviting again - you may need to invite times before the person is ready to receive Christ.


IV.	Follow Up

	A.	Bringing the baby home and ignoring it.

	B.	Did you witness because you cared, or because you needed to "win a soul?"

	C.	How do you show you care?

	D.	the importance of involvement

		1.	in church

		2.	in a small group
