NO NEWS ON NEGOTIATIONS FRONT
As you know, the Board's offer of a 4-year contract with 5 make-up days expired at noon on May 26th. They currently have no proposal on the table...NOTHING to accept or reject.
This is not surprising in that their last two offers have been regressive...worse than their previous offer. They have made it clear that they do not want to negotiate...only to retaliate.
The CAT's current offer is to make up all 17 days missed due to the strike, submit the current year's dispute to arbitration, and begin negotiating for the 2002-2003 School Year.
We will let you know immediately if there is any news concerning negotiations.
GRIEVANCE FILED
The Association has filed a class action grievance concerning the District's lastest act of retaliation; namely, the docking without notice of each bargaining unit member's sick leave by one day. We will keep you informed of the progress of this grievance.
