CAT Tracks for August 17, 2001
Welcome Back Edition |
Well, it's that time again...are we ever ready for this?
Several of you asked about NEGOTIATIONS yesterday. Unfortunately, we are still in the "talking" stages...explaining the rationale for our respective proposals. We have not yet gotten down to exchanging counterproposals, making movement, and finding out where we actually stand. However, keep in mind that this is NOT UNUSUAL for CSD #1...our last negotiations took a full year. (Although the secretarial union--CAESP--completed negotiations several weeks ago and ratified a proposed new contract, the Board of Education has chosen not to!?...AND has not responded to their "demand to bargain" letter for negotiations to begin again for this year?! Go figure.)
To satisfy the "CAT's curiosity"--now and on a continuing basis--we have added a new page to our website. Go to www.geocities.com/cattracks.geo and click on "Negotiations". A printed version of the current page comprises the remainder of this edition of CAT Tracks. The page will be updated immediately after each negotiations session.
Again, welcome aboard to the "newbies" and welcome back to the "oldies--but goodies". Hope one and all have a great school year. You will find your annual "union stuff" in your mailbox soon...possibly with this newsletter.
Till next time...
