CAT Tracks for September 17, 2001 MEMBERSHIP SUPPORTS MERGER

By a 75% majority, the membership of the Cairo Association of Teachers gave its approval to merge with one or more of the other locals of Cairo School District Number One. Although nothing has changed as yet, this vote means that if/when another local takes the necessary legal steps to join with the CAT, the CAT membership has pledged to accept them. As discussed at the "merger meeting" on September 11th, this is a commitment that must be kept!
