SPECIAL BOE MEETING |
Well...had hoped that we were finally beyond the mass firings that were so common in the past. With over $2 million in the bank and labor contracts signed, sealed, and in force for two more years...had hoped that unreasonable cuts in staff and programs would NOT be the order of the day!
Unfortunately, that was not the case on Tuesday night.
The BOE voted to send nonrenewal notices to all first-year and second-year teachers...even though it would be impossible to operate the buildings without them! AND...after bemoaning the high suspension rate and the resultant loss of State aid...the BOE voted to eliminate Crisis Classroom for next year. Go figure...
Also leaving the District are Joyce Champion (resignation) and Rose Mary Kloss (nonrenewal of consultant contract).
