CAT Tracks for March 13, 2009 NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE

Okay, I was there...and I don't believe it.

We spent from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. in separate rooms...both sides seemed to be working.

The result...nothing.

We gave them a money proposal...they concluded the evening by giving us a proposal on the retirement/bonus issue.

That's it...where did the time go???

(We did waste about an hour discussing the Superintendent's latest "contempt of contract", but got no assurances that anything would change. What can I say...we tried!)

No rant...no rave...strange.

Maybe it's the long pauses between meetings...

If that is the case, then maybe some progress is on the horizon....the next meeting is in four days...St. Patrick's Day. May the "Luck of the Irish" be with us!!!

Why is it that I had to remember part of a John Lennon song when I wrote that last sentence...

If you had the luck of the Irish,
You'd be sorry and wish you were dead.
You should have the luck of the Irish,
You'd wish you was English instead.

Oh, well...let's think positively!
