Forget the [expletive deleted] stock market!
Invest your money in Cairo [expletive deleted] School District Number One!!
Another month...another [expletive deleted] profit!!!
Okay, enough...more than enough [expletive deleted] "expletive deleteds".
During a break in the "action" at last night's CAT-BOE negotiations session, we had a chance to peruse the latest CSD Treasurer's Report...
A casual glance at the above report will reveal a "Bank Account Balance" of $3,319,851.77 sitting in Cairo's First National Bank at the end of March.
To make "the math" simple, last month's report is reproduced below...
A casual glance at the above report will reveal a "Bank Account Balance" of $3,116,708.60 sitting in Cairo's First National Bank at the end of February.
When you "do the math", that's a net improvement in the District's finances of $203,143.17...a tidy little profit for a non-profit organization!
And, THAT number does NOT include the "stimulus money" that was reported on the front page of The Cairo Citizen this week...the additional $351,966 in Title I funds and $230,000 in IDEA funds!!
Insert you own expletive!!!
Now don't get me wrong...I'm happy for the District. Employees of Cairo School District Number One have a vested interest in the financial well being of the District.
However, to nickle and dime their employees - all four unions - while protesting the dire financial status of the District...that's a tough sell.
In short, we ain't buyin' it!
So, Cairo School District officials, it's time to shut up and put up!
You are NOT running a school district to turn a profit for stockholders...there are none.
You are supposed to be running a school district to meet the needs of the stakeholders...of which there are many.
During the next three years, CAT estimates that thirteen (13) teachers will retire from Cairo School District Number One. That number does not include the number of teachers that will voluntarily leave the District for greener pastures...pastures that are getting greener and greener every year...other school districts that do not hoard their money, but instead invest it in keeping and/or replacing faculty and providing a quality educational system.
Cairo School District officials wring their hands over the Cairo School District salary schedule...it's too low to attract new teachers.
Well, HELL...
...and pardon the nondeleted expletive!
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to solve your problem!!!
