WOMEN DRIVERS

I'm sorry...

After the "flurry" of e-mails today, BEFORE I even made my normal rounds of news sources, I vowed to post no more...forever (at least until tomorrow.)

But, then this story popped up and crashed my good intentions.

Oh, I'm sorry...did you think my "I'm sorry" above was because of this post's subject heading...the sexist "Women Drivers".

I'm sorry, you'd be wrong!

2-year-old drives car into Springfield home

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) -- A Springfield father has gotten a frightening lesson about the "terrible twos" after his daughter smashed his car into a garage door.

Larry Benson says he left his daughter, Ashia (us-SHY-uh), buckled into her car seat Wednesday while he peered into the windows of a rental property.

While he was gone, police say, the toddler managed to escape from her car seat, climb into the front seat and put the car into gear.

Lt. Scott Leven says, "There's a reason they call them the terrible twos."

The toddler also managed to lock herself in the car.

Benson says, "I couldn't ever get her out of the vehicle, and it was still in gear pushing on the garage door."

He eventually was able to persuade her to roll down the window so he could free her.

The toddler was not injured. The only damage was to the garage door.
