CAT Tracks for April 2, 2009
SEEIN' IS BELIEVIN' |
Maybe Cairo School District officials will finally believe what CAT Tracks has been reporting for months now...maybe their state of denial will end.
Maybe...
CAT Editor's Note: Evidently, Meridian was inadvertantly left off of the list. They were on an earlier list...also receiving less stimulus dollars than Cairo.

Area schools get Recovery Act funding
BY THE SOUTHERN
Forty-two Southern Illinois school districts have received funding as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Recovery Act funds are for Title I, which benefits low-income students, and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The funds will be released in two installments according to established formulas.
The first payments were released Wednesday; the second are due to arrive in the fall.
"This funding supports students in need to make sure they are receiving a quality education," said U.S. Rep. Jerry Costello, who announced the funding Wednesday. "A strong economy depends upon our ability to educate our children and maintain a productive work force that is equipped to meet the challenges of the 21st Century."
