FRIENDS, BOOKS, & THINGS

The library gift shop, Friends, Books, & Things, is full of exciting gifts.

Children's gifts include a variety of challenging puzzles that stimulate learning. Triops, the prehistoric swimming monsters, are back as well as a wide variety of poetry kits to stimulate language development. There are many stocking-stuffer gifts: frog puzzle and shark-swallowing-diver key rings; perpetual motion dolphins; assorted mineral bottles and geologic samples; Santa flip books; NASA insignia space vehicles, astronauts, modules -- all with learning information.

Adults will be delighted by the beautiful sterling silver, painted art glass and clove-scented tree ornaments. Lovely onyx and marble gifts that hail from Pakistan; buffalo-horn boxes from India; folk figures from Peru, Mexico, Haiti, Africa, Bali and the Philippines.

New to the shop are beautiful carved boxes from England. Tiny teapots with Christmas or art themes come from China. We have lamps to help you read in bed, little flat flashlights for reading programs or opening doors in the dark. Jewelry runs the gamut from $0.75 to $40.00 (museum replicas) .... all prices that cannot be bettered!

But best of all: the gifts you purchase enable the Friends of the Oxnard Library to support children's programs and many other needful activities.

Our shop is located at the West entrance to the library, 251 South 'A' Street in Oxnard. Hours: Monday - Thursday 11 AM to 5 PM, and Saturday 10 AM to 4 PM. Phone number is 385-7506. For Events year round check the Greater Oxnard & Harbor's Oxnard Festival & Events Guide .
