For too long, we have wrongly judged our passion-our passion for living, our vitality and zest for places, people, things, and ideas. I shouldn't have what I want. I shouldn't say what I like. I shouldn't get too excited. What helps us come to life? What takes us out of the motions and into our emotions? What connects us to the energy of life, the energy of love, the energy of the life force that permeates us all?
All your growth, all your work, has not been to lead you away from your passions, to turn you into robot. It has been to bring you back to life, to put you in touch with the vital energy of the universe, an energy that permeates all that is. An energy that permeates you.
Honor your passion by honoring your emotions. Feeling your emotions releases passion in you. Once you know and can recognize that, you'll know which direction to go.
Expressing passion and gratitude will guide your life. Say it again and again. Say it until you believe it. Say it until you live it..
Being fully present with every moment is being fully present with Spirit. When we are not fully present we miss joyful, precious moments. A friend hugged me and then a short while later looked at me and said "I haven't had my hug from you today ." Well, she had but because we were talking at the time it went unnoticed.
It's like driving for miles and not noticing the passing landscape. The practice of being fully present is the practice of mindfulness. Practicing mindfulness is a matter of focusing on what we are doing in each moment and this keeps us continuously connected to Spirit.
While taking a walk we can focus on the physical movement of walking, the beauty around us and perhaps the dog at the end of the leash we are holding. While doing dishes we can focus on the warmth of the water and the beauty of a clean dish. While sharing a hug, we can focus on the Spirit presence within the other person and extend a silent blessing to them.
As we mindfully move through this day, lets be fully aware of the infinite presence in all things. Mindfulness is the highest form of worship and a graceful way to live.
