Michael Pocock's Collection of Old Photographs of India
As this page is being built up, it is still not yet organized as to
how the photographs will be grouped. The pictures are basically in South India. Michael says" I have some thirty of them all about 1890 I
have some more taken about 1904 anyway you tell me what you want ( dont we want everything!!) I have
some beauties of Madras. Please understand I am very ignorant of India and its Geography in as much as I find it hard to read place names as
the writing is rather spidery!! all these pictures are 100 kbytes or less however I am not aware how I can reduce the dpi I have an
Hewlett Packard scan jet 5p I do have a Cannon FB320P but the program is very disappointing probably because I am not smart enough to drive it,
though to me its a heap of junk.But I have so much to learn that it is a challenge and I hope you say yes to my submissions
of about 50 pictures ( We all say 'Yes Michael!!)" .
As and when Michael sends me the pics, I shall add them to the page. Because of the large number of
photographs expected I am keeping the linksin the below format and not using thumbnails. You would have to click on
the links given below, and once the photograph comes up, you will haveto use your 'Back' button to return to the page. The best way to view the photographs is to click on the link with the mouse
right button and open it in a 'New Window'. Because the photographs
are directly brought up, there is no 'Return' button available.
