Sounds like you have taken control of one of life's most difficult situations. I too am an ostomate having been dx'd with rectal cancer 2 years ago. I have conquered the mental side and am trying to regain the physical. Thanks for a nice web site. Wil be looking for updates. Best of luck for a happy and prosperous future.

Hi Mischa, Great page =). I think it's terrific that you're looking to help others who also have sacral agenesis and/or spina bifida. The best advice/info a person can get is from someone who's been there, done that. I don't have either of the two conditions, but am a leg amputee due to cancer when I was 5 years old. Dear Mischa, (hope I got your name right)

My name is Trish Day and I am responding to the note you left on my web page. I have heard of a few people with sacral agenesis who have conceived and had children, but most have had serious complications. These complications can include kidney failur . I have heard of some people needing dialysis during their pregnancies.

The good news is that I do know someone in Denver who did not have those complications. But I do not know to what extent her bladder and bowel function had been previously affected by her disabilities.

Please write to me privately and I will give you more information about medical resources. Please include your general geographical location so that I can try to find resources near you.
