Installation Sites of Klussendorf Machines

First 22 Klussendorf machines started operating on 9.7.90. Service was suspended late January 1996. They were gradually phased back into service beginning on 22.10.96 and finally removed during the last months of 1998. The Philatelic Service machine service was terminated on 8.1.99.

Notes:

1. #16e was not listed in the original Post Office Public Notice
2. #16d was used for the official FDC
3. Cliche 039 was in the QIRYAT ATA machine on 18.2.91 but functioned less than a day and was replaced by 015 the day after.
4. Cliche 005 that was reported to be in 6b was in fact cliche 001.
5. #19, #22 were not accessible to the public, only to employees.
6. #21: There exist two machines with cliche 023.
7. FD of issue of Tourist Sites (Series A, part 1) was 21.6.94. Designs were installed in machines at 2b (existing) and 16k, 24, 25 (new). The designs for Jerusalem (Tower of David) and Bethlehem were not available at on-site machines. In practice, some machines were issuing Tourist Sites labels before 21.6.94 and the earliest known date is mentioned.

Notes:

1. The notice to the public (157/96) stated that machines 005 and 022 will start operating at locations 19 & 11d. This did not happen.
2. Several machines were removed from their on-site locations before the Israphil98 Exhibition. 003, 005 & 014 were available for per-exhibition production at the Philatelic Service and later at the Exhibition Grounds throughout the Israphil98 Exhibition. All machines (including some back-up machines) were returned to their original locations.
3. The Philatelic Service Machine (no-cliche) continued to produce all issue types as per special orders.
4. Machine 023 (Tel-Aviv) was available at the Philatelic Service Counter for production of Christmas Issues. After end of sale date, the Nazareth issue was available at that machine for a short period.
