Fuzzy_bread: "Are You Who Is To Come?"

Matthew 11:1-10
Isaiah 9:6, 53:1-12, Jeremiah 23:5-6

"Now when John heard in prison about the deeds of the Christ, he sent word by his disciples and said to him, `Are you who is to come, or shall we look for another(Matthew 11:2-3)?"

I had a nightmare. I dreamed that it was the end of the world, and that I was standing at the mouth of hell. At first, I felt secure in Jesus, but then I saw things that made me question my beliefs. Is Christianity really just the world's oldest cult?
John sent his disciple to ask Jesus "Are you who is to come, or shall we look for another?" I asked Jesus the same question in my heart. I sat up in my bed at two in the morning thinking about it. I finally decided that I had to believe in Christ, even if it meant me going to hell. Then, a week later, I found Isaiah 43:11, which said, "I, I am the Lord, and besides me there is no savior." And also, Isaiah 44:8 said that there is no other rock besides God. It came to my attention that God was the only one who could forgive sins, so, I thought, Jesus had to be God. But, according to what I heard about the Torah, Isaiah 9:6 was changed so that it no longer said, `Mighty God.' This made me uncertain. Who can save but God alone? Then why do people talk about getting `saved' at church camp?
But a Jewish friend of mine pointed out several messianic prophecies from the Old Testament for me. Jesus is the only one who fulfilled more than 90% of all Old Testament prophecies. No other person can make that claim. The Old Testament is there to verify that claim.
Jeremiah 23 says that Jesus will be called `The Lord is our righteousness.' The New Testament supports this by saying that Jesus, the Lord, makes us righteous in God's eyes.
Isaiah 9:6 was correct before non-Christian religious officials changed it. Jesus is God.
Isaiah 53 describes Christ's appearance (not handsome), his suffering, and his power to forgive our sins.
Clearly, there is no other messiah we can look for. Jesus is the messiah.

Dear Father in heaven, thank you for sending your son Jesus to save us from our sins. Thank you for sacrificing your one and only son to make your people holy and kosher. Thank you also for revealing the truth to us, that Jesus is the true messiah and the only one who can forgive our sins. Amen. 1
