Remember

Remember those days, not long ago
with the hot sun's kiss, and the breeze's flow
the days played long
but the nights danced slow
do you remember?

Under the shade of that old, old tree
the serenade of a bird's melody
and the only ones alive
were you...and me
do you remember?

Remember the days that have not long passed
time forever seemed to last
and you were gone--the pain too vast
as I remembered...

Waiting in vain in my lonely room
enshrouded in hurt and sorrow and gloom
I would not see the jasmine bloom
as I remembered.

Remember, I waited in vain for you
you never came back...that's nothing new
as for me, I depart now
from Life so cruel
and leave
the remembering
to you...
