THE HAITIAN EXPERIENCE

When leaving Port-au-Prince Haiti, the shear size and height
of the mountains you are struggling to get on top of can over whelm you.
You pass by a contrast of terrain; some covered with trees and foliage
and by barren rocks.
When you look back, it can seems as though you are several
miles closer to the Lord than to Port-au-Prince. But now you have left
the hustle of the city and now you are in another world where the homes
are sometimes built out of stones stacked on top of each other and some
homes made from mud. Often these homes may have a bare floor but have Breeze
Block walls. You also begin to notice that the air is thinner. The team
has been riding now in the back of a flatbed truck for almost two hours.
We are now 30 miles up in the mountains. We will be staying in the home
of one of the local pastors:
We come together to hold a crusade for the children, using
one of the local mission facilities.
We can have as many as, and often do have, two hundred and
fifty or more children present. Many times we must have this part of the
crusade outside to accommodate everyone.
