Notes:

Of the 256 surveys returned completed, 56 members had already renewed by the time they received the survey; and 91 requested information on how to rejoin (these requests have been passed on to the National Office).

In addition, at least two lapsed members sent checks and renewal forms with their surveys.  These were immediately sent to the National Office for processing.

80.5% of the responders indicated that they would consider rejoining Mensa, while only 19.5% said that they would not rejoin under any circumstances.

CONCLUSION:
The majority of lapsed members were members for 5 years or more; qualified for membership by taking the Mensa proctored test; were between the ages of 41-50; were male; joined Mensa to meet individuals with possible similar interests; attended 1-5 events while they were a member; liked the Mensa Bulletin; did not rejoin for reasons other than those listed; and would consider rejoining if changes were made.
