BAND NAME
人間の表の顔と裏の顔という意味での二面性. The name Due' le quartz is supposed to mean the two faces - front and back - of human beings. (I wasn't sure how to translate this into English.. ^^;;) It's also been translated as the two-sided crystal. I think this sounds more probable from just looking at the name. BAND HISTORY Formed in December 1998, Dué le quartz tours mainly around the Tokyo-Nagoya-Osaka area. The original lineup was Sakito (vocal), Ken (guitar), Kikasa (bass), Kazuki (drums) (ex-Je Reviens). They began performing lives in February 1999. Their first live was in Takadanobaba Area and it was sold out. After that, they performed in Ikebukuro Cyber, and other famous live houses in the Kanto region. As well as performing lives for 4 months, they also appeared on TV Asahi in April on "PA PA PA PAPAFFY" (a big visual kei event) as a secret appearance. It was their first TV appearance. In May 1999, at the live in Shibuya DESEO, Ken (guitar) suddenly quit the band, due to musical differences. In June 1999, because they had confirmed a schedule of lives, they held auditions to find a new guitarist. There, the present guitarist, Miyabi officially joined Dué le quartz. In August 1999, in both the city and the suburbs, they held shows in Osaka. In November 1999, to promote their first mini-album release (limited to 3000), they did more than 20 in-store events all over Japan. It was released on November 18th and is now sold out. A second press (also limited to 3000) was put out on 12/25, making a total of 6000 copies. Both of these presses are now sold out. A third press is now available but rapidly becoming hard to find (limited to 5000?). They released their second mini-album "Jisatsu Ganbou" on May 29, 2000, and their first video on July 10. They have been touring non-stop this year, and they held their first one-man live in Shibuya On Air West on August 23. It was sold out. Also, the official fanclub "Baby Merry" was opened on August 1. Their maxi-singles "Dear...from xxx disc-1" and "Dear...from xxx disc-2" have been released on January 24, 2001 after much delay. The first presses are limited to 10,000. There has been many rumours that Due' le quartz will go major this year... We'll see.. ^^; The band is currently signed to P.S. Company, and the lineup is Sakito (v), Miyabi (g), Kikasa (b), and Kazuki (d). |
