My Guitars
This page is for the guitars that I own and the products that I use. I have been playing
guitar since January 1996. I have an acoustic (which I have played since the beginning)
and an electric (which I have had since August 1997).
My Acoustic Guitar
I like my acoustic guitar. It is a Yamaha FG-401.
My Electric Guitar
I also like my electric guitar. It is an Ibanez EX series.
Amplifiers
I use a Crate GXT 410 amp. It's an 80 watt amp with 4 10" speakers. I like the distortion
boost and the clean and distortion channels. I have really been pleased with this amp.
I usually don't use the reverb. I don't turn the volume up, because it's just too much sound
in such a small space. The dirty channel has two gain settings. The second one is the boosted
level. I usually use these settings:

Effects

I am currently using a Jim Dunlop Crybaby Wah pedal, a Zoom 505 multi-effects processor (see
link below for list of patches), DOD Overdrive Plus and a Rocktek Vibrator. I run them in this
order: Ibanez EX --> DOD FX50B --> Dunlop Crybaby --> Zoom 505 --> Rocktek Vibrator --> Crate GXT
410. I made a pedalboard for the effects and the Crate's footswitch.
The 505 has 24 programmable effects, using up to 9 at a time.

Strings
Acoustic
I use Martin Marquis lights for strings on my acoustic. I like the feel and I think they
sound good. I would recommend them to anyone.
Electric
I have used many different strings for my electric. I like the Ernie Ball Super Slinky Nickel
Wound. I usually go through the high E strings frequently. I used to break them really quickly,
but I found that I had a burr of metal where the strings come out. Once I removed that, I began
to get three months out of my strings without breaking them.
Picks
I use many picks. In fact, if you walk around my living room, you will find picks stashed
various places. I like to use medium picks for acoustic guitar and soft for electric guitar. My
favorite picks are glow in the dark picks.

The web is full of resources for everything and guitar is no different. Here are some links I
