Dear Deputy Chief Bridges,
I would like to apply for a permit to hold a small (5-25 person) political rally in the Downtown Detroit area on December 2, 2001.
The rally will be in the form of a walk, from the Renaissance Center at 11:00 a.m., west on Jefferson Avenue to Woodward Avenue one block, west again on Larned Street, then to the Hotel Ponchetrain for lunch, then returning via Washington Boulevard and Jefferson Avenue to arrive at Hart Plaza at approximately 2:00 p.m. for a short speech, a question & answer period, and the presentation of two awards.
The walk is part of a worldwide rally initiated by radio presenter Prodos Marinakis in Australia, but local attendance will be small, informal, and no impact on the flow of traffic, vehicle or pedestrian, is expected.
I would appreciate if the department could contact me as soon as possible at 248-866-4884 to let me know what, if any, requests or applications I should make in advance of this event to comply with city or county requirements.
Thank you,
Robert C. Nasir
