The Caldwell First Nation is dedicated to acquiring and organizing a permanent community in southwester Ontario with federal protection for all time to come. We are committed to carrying on the present good relations with our neighbours in Shrewsbury and surrounding area, knowing that new and old friendships are important to all concerned communities. We are willing and able to support any property owners who have been needlessly harassed or intimidated by local pressure groups, since it is in unity and fellowship that we will prosper together. Our community is grateful for the number of business relationships developed in south Kent since 1993, and we hope to improve upon such in the future with all that wish to continue. The priority of safety and security in our neighbourhood continues to be forthright in everyday practice, although in recent weeks our resources have been severely tested. Agriculture is first and foremost within our new economy. Our farmers will see that compatible arrangements continue. We have farmed in south Kent since 1995 and plan to continue good relations with our neighbours in this regard. We are grateful for new working relations with local technicians on such matters as drainage. It is believed that the conveyance of environmental concerns to qualified people on all sides will help restore normal routines to our neighbourhood. The Caldwells continue to welcome positive input, questions and gatherings with mutually supportive neighbours. Theres much to do, and we have many more good people to meet with. We are eternally grateful to concerned citizens and all friends who have shown support for our cause and invite you to continue writing the government and editorial pages. Times have been difficult but we can be successful with a little more timely support. Thanks to all.
