As described below, and explained elsewhere on this web page, the position taken by the Westar Institute/"Jesus Seminar" with regards to my research on the Revelation and Doctrine of the "resurrection of the dead" is precisely the position taken by the Sadducees and Pharisees with regards to the Teaching of Jesus:
I was given permission to address the members of the "Jesus Seminar" at their meeting at the University of Notre Dame in early October, 1987, at which time I challenged them to a debate on the Doctrine of the "resurrection of the dead". And, when questioned as to what was the 'other' side of the debate, I replied that "The 'other' side of the debate is the Truth about the "resurrection of the dead": that It includes the revelation of the memories of previous lives"--an assertion which, apparently, came as something of a shock to those in attendance.
More than 11 years passed since this challenge was issued, during which time no debate was ever held, and I did not have any further contact with either the Westar Institute or the "Jesus Seminar".
Then, in August, 1999, in anticipation of the Fall Meeting which will be held this October 20-23 in Santa Rosa, California, I e-mailed to the Westar Institute a request that I be given the opportunity to present my research to the members of the "Jesus Seminar" as soon as possible--a request to which I have not, as yet, received a reply.
And, later in August, 1999, I received a reply from an official of the Westar Institute expressing a 'reluctance' to include my name on the list of Study Group Leaders published in the Westar Institute's publication, "The Fourth R"--this after I had paid my $25 annual membership dues--principally as a consequence of my research on the Revelation and Doctrine of the "resurrection of the dead". Nor have I received, as yet, a reply to my request to join the "on-line" discussion group, another benefit of membership in the Westar Institute.
On September 7, 1999 I received a check for $25 from the Westar Institute--effectively cancelling my Westar membership and demonstrating that the principal concern of the Westar Institute/"Jesus Seminar" is certainly not Revealed Truth, nor even the free exchange of ideas, but merely institutional self-preservation; thus establishing the accuracy of what I had first written on my web page in February, 1999: that '...the Christian religious establishment cannot permit an open discussion of the Truth about the Revelation and Doctrine of the "resurrection of the dead".'
Oh, by the way...
On November 15, 1995, I sent a note to several religion newsgroups on the Internet (many of which I now contribute to under the screen name of 28SW2)giving the chief rabbis of Israel a seven day dead-line to resign as a result of their complicity in the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin. (In other words, the fact that a 'religious' Jew could consider such a murder as being 'justified' is directly traceable to the lies told by the rabbis about the Revelation and Doctrine of the "resurrection of the dead".)
And, on November 22, 1995, approximately six hours prior to the expiration of that deadline, several countries of the Middle East were struck by an earthquake (registering between 5.7 and 7.2) which also cracked the burial chamber of the Great Pyramid in Egypt--an interesting synchronicity in that what the Orthodox rabbis teach is a modified Egyptian doctrine of 'resurrection'.
On August 10, 1999, I gave a seven day time limit to the above mentioned official of the Westar Institute to change his/her mind about including my name in the list of Group Leaders published in "The Fourth R". And, on August 17, 1999, approximately 22 hours prior to the expiration of this time limit, an earthquake registering between 7.4 and 7.8 struck Turkey, resulting in the loss of more than 14,000 human lives.
I did not predict or Prophesy these earthquakes.
On the contrary, given that thousands of religious officials and hundreds of media officials in the United States have been suppressing, ignoring and continuing to contradict the Truth about the Revelation and Doctrine of the "resurrection of the dead" for more than 20 years; there is now a very serious question as to whether this civilization even deserves to be informed of any more Prophecies of the coming "time of trouble" (cf. Daniel 12:1).
The Truth about the Revelation and Doctrine of the "resurrection of the dead" has been ignored, denied, contradicted and suppressed by the Jewish religious officials for more than 2000 years, and by the Christian religious officials for more than 1500 years.
The real question now is that, in light of the Prophecies of Daniel 12:1 & 12:9, "How much longer will these religious officials and media officials continue to believe that they can suppress, ignore, deny, and contradict with impunity the Truth about the Revelation and Doctrine of the 'resurrection of the dead'?".
