The Truth of the matter is that the Dead Sea Scrolls (and, later, the Nag Hammadi Codices) had to be hidden because of the mortal doctrinal threat they posed to the Jewish (and, later, the Christian) religious establishment over the interpretation of only one doctrine: the Doctrine of the "resurrection of the dead". And today, the situation is almost precisely what it was 2000 years ago: the Truth about the Revelation and Doctrine of the "resurrection of the dead" still constitutes a mortal threat to the (now multi-billion dollar) economic interests of the Jewish and Christian religious establishments and still must be censored and suppressed to preserve the very jobs of the Jewish and Christian religious officials. (That is, the only real difference now is that the Truth about the "resurrection of the dead" also poses a mortal threat to the Muslim religious establishment.) Thus, the vigilance and the relentless viciousness with which the Jewish and Christian religious officials have ignored, rejected and suppressed any research on the Dead Sea Scrolls or the Nag Hammadi Codices which does not conform to the 'party line'; that is, does not support--but, rather, lethally threatens--their official misinterpretation of the "resurrection of the dead" as the doctrine of a physical resurrection from the grave.
Furthermore, the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls (beginning in 1947) and the Nag Hammadi Codices (in 1945)--and, finally, the publication of the complete texts of the Dead Sea Scrolls--should be understood, from a much wider perspective, as merely the first step in the fulfillment of the Prophecy of Daniel 12:9 that "these words will remain secret and sealed until the time of the End."; a Prophecy which will be completely fulfilled only when the meaning of these documents and the Truth about the "resurrection of the dead" is widely publicized by the religious and the secular media--something which the Jewish, Christian, and Muslim religious officials are, for reasons which will soon become obvious, determinedly (and quite successfully) fighting tooth and nail to prevent.
In July, 1994 I completed a manuscript summarizing 17 years of research on the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Nag Hammadi Codices and consisting of two essays: "The Scroll of the War of the Sons of Light and the Revelational Basis of the Doctrine of the 'M'essiah" and "A Treatise on the Resurrection". And, over a period of 49 months--from August, 1994 until September, 1998--I sent hundreds of notes to newsgroups on the Internet explaining my research on the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Nag Hammadi Codices; the fundamental conclusions of which can be summarized as follows:
1)The principal reason for the hiding of the Dead Sea Scrolls from the Jewish religious establishment was a sharp disagreement over the Doctrine of the "resurrection of the dead": the Sadducees denied It (cf. Matthew 22:23); the Pharisees (and Paul was a Pharisee) misinterpreted It as the doctrine of a physical resurrection of a dead body from the grave (which is a this-worldy modification rather than wholesale expropriation of the Egyptian doctrine of 'resurrection'); while the writers of at least some of the Dead Sea Scrolls (primarily the "Thanksgiving Hymns" and the "Scroll of the War of the Sons of Light") understood It as being similar, but not identical, to the Buddhist Doctrine of Rebirth--generally, and mistakenly, often referred to as the doctrine of 'reincarnation'.
2)The principal reason for the hiding of the Nag Hammadi Codices from the then-emerging Christian religious establishment was also a disagreement over the Doctrine of the "resurrection of the dead"--which was as much of a threat to the Christian religious establishment (but for somewhat different reasons) as It had been to the Jewish religious establishment; and,
3)It was because of this Doctrinal disagreement that Jesus was murdered--Jesus having seriously threatened the power of the Jewish priesthood (both Sadducees and Pharisees) by publicly implying that John the Baptist was Elijah 'raised from the dead' (cf. Matthew 11:13-15) and by publicly presenting a metaphorical description of the revelation of the memories of previous lives in his reply to the Sadducees (cf. Luke 20:34-37). And it was also as a result of this Doctrinal disagreement that tens of thousands of Albigensians in southern France, firmly (and correctly) believing that they were following a Doctrine taught by Jesus, were exterminated--many of them by being burned alive--on the orders of the officials of the Roman church approximately 800 years ago.
And, on the basis of these Truths about the "resurrection of the dead", it is to be concluded that:
1)There is a Revelational, Doctrinal, and Prophetic continuity [Mohammed being Elijah and John the Baptist 'raised from the dead' in fulfillment of the Prophecies of Malachi 3:23-24 and Jesus (Matthew 17:11)] between the Revelations of Judaism, Christianity and Islam (and it is only on the basis of this Truth that there can be a resolution of the conflict over Jerusalem and the establishment of any genuine peace throughout the Middle East;
2)The official publication of these Truths in general (or this research on the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Nag Hammadi Codices in particular) would pose a mortal threat to the economic interests of the Judaeo-Christian-Islamic religious establishment --whose officials are paid billions of dollars yearly to preserve and exacerbate the distinctions (and, thus, the conflicts) between these three monotheistic religions rather than to establish such a Revelational, Doctrinal, and Prophetic continuity; and, therefore,
3)Out of a concern for, principally, the preservation of their jobs, their wealth, their power, and the high esteem in which they are held by their witless followers (and, in order that they be able to pay their mortgages, their grocery bills, and their health insurance premiums)--which concerns are, apparently, much more important to them than the value of human life or preventing the Prophesied genocide--the religious officials of Judaeo-Christianity-Islamism, Inc. are suppressing the Truth about the "resurrection of the dead"; and are, wittingly or unwittingly, leading and pushing this civilization into a military conflict over Jerusalem and the horrors of Armageddon.
[Although the purpose of these particular essays is to concentrate on, specifically, the Revelation and Doctrine of the "resurrection of the dead", that Revelation is typically preceded by another Revelation--the Vision of the "Son of man" (received by Moses, David, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Jesus, John & Mohammed; and referred to in the "Thanksgiving Hymns" of the Dead Sea Scrolls as the 'Vision of Knowledge')--which, similarly, establishes the continuity between the Revelations of Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
And an understanding of the characteristics of both the Vision of the "Son of man" and the Revelation of the "resurrection of the dead" is crucially important to understanding the characteristics of the consciousness of the Knowledge of Truth--i.e., that consciousness which was lost through "the Fall", resulting in duality, fear/desire, image and illusion (i.e., the "dragon" and the "beast of the sea"), and the formation of the normal human consciousness, personality, or 'ego' (i.e., the "beast of the earth").
Thus, for those with the ears to hear:
The characteristics of the Vision of the "Son of man":
Gender: Masculine
Place: Middle of the Forehead
Orientation: Vertical
Structure: Perception and Thought
Oscillation: Spatially-damped
Temporal orientation and extension: time-reversed, time-forward, time-reversed
Geometry: infinite, straight, bounded

Number: 10 minus 3
Acoustics: brassy--like the sound of a trumpet, the roar of a water-fall or a jet engine; or, even, the buzzing of bees
Phonetic tones: Long and short (in sequence) U, O, A, E, and I; minus the short u, a, and i
Colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet
(And, for those with not only the ears to hear, but also the eyes to see: it should also be pointed out that, although it is quite unlikely that he had any deep awareness of the significance of the visual and auditory effects he was using, the greater part of the last segment of Kubrick's "2001--A Space Odyssey" [in which the name of the protagonist is David--the name of the first king of Israel to receive the 'anointing' of the Vision of the "Son of man" (cf. Psalms 18:7-15)--Bowman--which is a synchronicity with both Revelations 6:6 and Genesis 21:20], entitled "Jupiter and Beyond the Infinite", consists of a large-scale visual and auditory representation/metaphor of certain elements of both the Vision of the "Son of man" and the vision referred to in the Eastern esoteric traditions as the 'vision of kundalini'; which, then, is followed by the last image on the screen: the baby in the amniotic sac, which is a symbol for the 'resurrection'--the meaning and significance of which representations and symbols can be conveyed effectively only in the context of an oral Teaching from someone who has received that Vision/vision.)
The characteristics of the Revelation of the "resurrection of the dead":
Gender: Feminine
Place: Left of the sternal boarder at the fourth intercostal space (the heart)
Orientation: Horizontal
Structure: Memory and Emotion
Oscillation: Temporally-damped
Temporal orientation and extension: time-reversed, time-forward
Geometry: infinite, curved, bounded
Character: expansion and water
Number: 4 (cf. Revelations 2:18-29)
Acoustics: Emotions
Phonetic tone: Long A
Color: Emerald Green (cf. Revelations 4:3)]
In an attempt, then, to diminish the bloodshed of the coming "time of trouble" (cf. Daniel 12:1), the purpose of the next two essays is to establish the Revelational continuity between Judaism, Christianity and Islam--and, thereby, to eliminate the very foundation of the conflict over Jerusalem--by presenting evidence that:
1)The Doctrine of the "resurrection of the dead" implied in the Torah and specifically referred to in the Prophets, Daniel, the Gospels and the Koran is similar to the Buddhist Doctrine of Rebirth, but not the metaphysical doctrine of 'reincarnation';
2)The Doctrine of the "resurrection of the dead" is not a philosophical conjecture formulated by the human intellect; but, instead, originates with a specific Revelation: the Revelation of the "resurrection of the dead"--which includes the Revelation of the Memory of Creation (cf. Genesis 2:7) and the revelation of the memories of previous lives; and,
3)A significant portion of the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Nag Hammadi Codices is based upon and/or expresses the Knowledge Revealed through the Revelation of the "resurrection of the dead" and echoing similar Revelations in the Torah, the Prophets, Daniel, the Gospels and the Koran.
(Please understand that this is a lengthy and very closely-reasoned argument--each and every element of which is crucially important to demonstrating that the Jewish, Christian and Muslim religious officials are, at best, seriously misinformed about the "resurrection of the dead"; or, at worst, intentionally lying and/or suppresssing the Truth about the "resurrection of the dead" for no other reason than to preserve their own jobs.)
The principal Dead Sea Scrolls expressing the Truth about the "resurrection of the dead" are the "Thanksgiving Hymns" (1QH) and the "Scroll of the War of the Sons of Light" (1QM)(as well as a number of scrolls found in Qumran Cave 4; for example, 4Q521, 4Q434 and 4Q436.) But, although 1QH and 1QM have been translated and widely published over the past 50 years, the majority of Dead Sea Scrolls researchers are simply unable to recognize the passages from these scrolls which constitute a lethal contradiction of the fundamental interpretive paradigm of both Jewish and Christian theology. In other words, Dead Sea Scrolls research is, at present, somewhat similar to the Ptolemaic description of the universe, which created an intensely complicated and 'inelegant' theory of cycles and 'epi-cycles' based upon the assumption that the earth is at the center of the universe. It was only when there was a complete change of paradigm that the observed paths of the planets were more widely recognized as evidence not for the existence of any so-called 'epi-cycles'; but, on the contrary, for the fact that the sun is the center of the solar system and the earth is a planet--something which the Ptolemaists would have looked upon as not merely preposterous, but as decisively disproven by their cycles and 'epi-cycles'.
Similarly, for almost 50 years the Jewish and Christian interpreters of the Dead Sea Scrolls have been face-to-face with the Truth about the "resurrection of the dead", but have simply been unable to recognize what they are looking at. Thus, what is needed is a complete change of paradigm in Dead Sea Scrolls research--a 'next generation' of Dead Sea Scrolls research which understands the meaning and significance of these documents based upon an understanding of the Truth about the "resurrection of the dead". (And, because Neils Bohr said something to the effect that 'New scientific theories succeed not by convincing others of their truth, but merely because those who believe in the old scientific theories die', it is extremely unlikely that this 'next generation' of Dead Sea Scrolls research will arrive until after the fulfillment of the Prophecies of the coming "time of trouble"--cf. Daniel 12:1; at which time the false doctrines taught by these officials of the monotheistic religions will be much more widely recognized as having contributed quite directly to the resultant genocide.)
The major problem with the passages in the Dead Sea Scrolls expressing the Truth about the "resurrection of the dead" is that they are so metaphorical, symbolic--and even cryptic--that merely the recitation of these passages alone is insufficient to immediately demonstrate with certainty that the term 'resurrection' is to be understood as a reference to the living of more than one life; just as the retrograde motion of the planets alone was insufficient to immediately demonstrate to the Ptolemaists that the sun is the center of the solar system and the earth is a planet. In other words, it is not the passages themselves, but the way in which these passages are interpreted which is the source of the problem--just as it was the Ptolemaist interpretation of the motion of the sun, the moon and the planets which, at least for a while, was considered as disproving the theory of Copernicus and Galileo.
In order to confront this interpretive paradigm directly, then, it is necessary, first, to establish the Doctrinal nature of the "resurrection of the dead" on the basis of the much more philosophical descriptions of the Nag Hammadi Codices before examining the language of the Dead Sea Scrolls. (And, perhaps, this was the reason the Nag Hammadi Codices were discovered before the Dead Sea Scrolls in the first place: as an indication that the metaphorical descriptions and cryptic references to the "resurrection of the dead" in the Dead Sea Scrolls cannot be understood unless there is, first, an understanding of the specifically philosophical elements of the Doctrine of the "resurrection of the dead" as outlined in the Nag Hammadi Codices.)
