Tie Breaker Rules
In the event of a tie [1-1 or 1/2-1/2] the winner will be determined by the player having the highest total value of pieces left on the board in both games. The value for each piece will be: Pawn = 1, Rook = 3, Knight = 4, Bishop = 5, and Queen = 12. These values are different than standard chess values but they seem to reflect the combative ability of each piece during a PC game.
A time limit of one move every three days / 10 moves within a 30 day period will be the standard for this 1st PC KO Tournament.
The "1 move
in 3 days"/ "10 moves in 30 days"
format for this 1st PC KO.
Explanation of a
"move":
A move = An action which can include a move or a protest.
Example of how a move/action
would work using the "3 day" max. period.
1.A sends on 9-20-99 a move
2.B sends a Protest to that move on 9-23-99
3.A sends a reply to the protest on 9-26-99
4.B send a move on 9-29-99
5.A sends a Protest on 10-1-99
6.B sends a move on 10-4-99
Thus in 18 days there are have a total of 6 "moves/actions" while only
2 finished moves which is within the time frame for this PC KO.
Both games in a 2 game PC KO match must be played concurrently!
Failure to follow the above rules will constitute a time violation, and may incur a forfeit.
