Offworld Characters

3. Earth people and others.

Jim McCreedy
Admiral-"There's something obscene about a twenty-nine year old admiral", then boss of Chicago base, McCreedy is a determined man: determined to see the Earth protected... Catholic and gay, he has many detractors, but his course seems set upwards simply because he's too competent, skilful and canny, too much of a hero to be demoted... his superiors and rivals are looking for the hole into which he can be to be side-tracked.
Kury
Captain of a very special ship, Galaxy NGC in Earth's navy. Aardvark owner, a tough man, a navy man, but not one who can see a regulation or procedure as written in stone. The crew that can live with this part- Russian love him...Also he is the only, adoptive parent of Johnny Fox, the latter now grown.
Richard Barrett
A brief encounter, a strong friendly guy- Jimmy's friend.. who breaks the ice between the others
Johnny Fox
Survivor of the massacre on Base Sixus, a haunted, quiet character now a member of NGC's crew.A soul still troubled maybe, nonetheless is one of the best friends a man could have.. loyal and deceptively tough.
Orestes Peralta
Son of a rich man, Orestes has everything going for him.. looks, talent, good taste and a good taste in friends. There could be a book about this character too.. only it would be a eulogy for a living man... a cofident man who must surely continue to rise in the fleet with maturity if the Earth has any sense...
Nora Jemenez
A tough disciplinarian of a woman who becomes Second (in command) on the Sovereign and must prove herself well capable of the command she is denied by virtue of her sex.
Terrel
Real name Richard Barrett, he quickly acquired the name when he joined Sovereign.. Never sure of his position with the captain, he becomes the rock on which he can rest.
Falco
Another twisted soul.. Lokin attack force commander, General John Falco, is a carrier of a disease, menthilis, which is fatal to those touched, passed by any body fluids, even sweat. A man of honour, who lives in order to match wits with his opposing mirror, Geren commander Jaephah Merek. Falco has a distaste for the vile, ugly and calloused junior commander at the Lokin fleet base on a small nothing world Metrarch, who provokes in others a "skin crawling revulsion, he inspired with a face that was a reflection of his soul."
