David Paul Fowler
November 28, 1924 ~ September 6, 2002
Born in Ft. Worth Nov. 28, 1924, Dave grew up attending schools in Ft. Worth, NTAC Arlington (now UTA), attended and graduated Texas A&M University in June 1948 with BS in Mechanical engineering. He worked in the petroleum industry in Ft. Worth 15 years, Frito-Lay, Inc. for 26.5 years and retired at the end of 1989
Dave served in the US Navy in WWII. He and wife Mary, married Sept 30, 1950, have lived in Irving at their current address since 1968. They have five children and eleven grandchildren.
Other affiliates include Instrument Society of America for over 20 years; President of the North Texas Mensa for two years; Holy Trinity Lutheran Church since 1971 (president of Congregation three years in 70’s); regular blood donor to Blood Care at Irving Health Care System – 6 gallons (48 units) donor; Master Composter training through IPAR; volunteer worker three years for Lively Center at the Byron Nelson Golf Classic.
Interests: Computers, photography, yard work, home maintenance, cooking and Elderhostel programs.
Dave contributed greatly to our computer group, instructing Beginners and Advanced classes, and always willing to help out in a pinch. He was a great asset to our class as well as a two term member of our Lively Park Senior Activity Center Advisory Council.
