Brigades


Brigades
This is before the era of corps. Instead armies are organized by brigades. These function as corps in all respects. The primary difference is that brigades are not all arms formations. There are separate artillery, infantry and cavalry brigades. This requires combined arms armies to have more brigades, causing next effects on leader’s tactical abilities.

Artillery Brigade: Movement 1/2
Artillery brigades can contain artillery and fusiliers.

Infantry Brigade: Movement 2/3
Infantry brigades can contain pikemen, musketeers and grenadiers. In rare instances it could contain artillery.

Cavalry Brigade: Movement 3/5
Cavalry brigades can contain cuirassiers, hussars or dragoons. It would be rare for more then one type to be in a brigade. Horse artillery might be included in a brigade with dragoons.
