Areas Involved in War
The U.S. defended for South Vietnam more than they defended themselves. When Nixon pulled out the last U.S. troops, the North Vietnamese almost immediatly took over.

Cambodia was a neutral country that contained troops from both sides. Since there were no political borders, it was hard to tell where there were enemy troops lurking.
