1-23-00: Hope and other thoughts
1. A sunrise perhaps. Find those things that give you hope. You are alone, and you need it like food.
2. Anything can happen-- you could die in a vat of acid, a pit of snakes for all you know. And so anything is permitted.
3. If you seem uncentered, you might go far yet. Your center may be so high up, you will work your whole life and never find it. And your whole life it will attract you like a magnet.
4. I can relate to Gypsies, to homosexuals, to the old Jews... all who are lost, trying to find their Israel, knowing that this home may be at last something terribly small and fragile, easily lost again. We cannot help each other much. In fact, sometimes it may be best for us to stay far away from each other. But we do help, we give each other hope just by living.
5.
After a night of rain
Dark water runs down the wall
Trickling hours away.
6.
Rain and wind clashing
And black pine-tops flashing
and tossing and praying at the ear
Of a sky that may or may not hear.
7. "Perhaps hope is a road: There really was no road, but many people walked this way, and a road came to be." --Lu Xun
