11-3-99: dying

To die consciously must be one of the great blessings of life. To know fully that you are going to die, to have the time to sum up your life in those last moments.

Most people don't die thinking, "I have done what I wanted to do." or, "I have always loved you, ****!" or even, "What the hell was the point?"

They probably go with some trivial thought, like "My hair's messed up." or "I'm not wearing my seat belt." or "I wonder what's for dinner?", or a line of some bad 70's song stuck in their heads. 1
