Many books, web sites and a movie tell the story of the slave ship Amistad, but none of these sources refer to the dimensions of the ship.  The movie Amistad used a ship called the Pride of Baltimore II that is about 90 feet on deck.  Mystic Seaport built a working replica of the Amistad that is about 81 feet on deck.  The Amistad was actually 64 feet long.  The Registration Document is the primary source for this information
The New London Custom House, 150 Bank Street, New London, CT  is home of the New London Maritime Society.  The model of the Amistad resides here.  After the U. S. Navy captured her, the real Amistad was docked near the Custom House.
