October 2, 1999 - Saturday

Last night I watched Robin Hood-Prince of Thieves again. It's a dumb movie, but somehow it does work. I'm not sure if it is Alan Rickman's deliciously over the top performance, or Morgan Freeman's quietly humorous Moor, or even Christian Slater's slimy yet likable Will Scarlett, but I like the movie. Note, I didn't mention Kevin Costner's performance as a highlight. It isn't. The quintessential English hero played by an American. At least Errol Flynn could fake an English accent.

Today was busy, I had 7 classes and I think they all went quite well. I was happy with them. And...I received an e-mail from one of my old students. He's in California right now. Yay!

My friend Susan sent me a tape of some songs, including the Bacon Brothers, but sadly there was a problem when she recorded it, and they didn't get recorded on the tape. In fact it was some really heavy metal stuff on it. It was kind of funny...I was trying to listen to it at bed-time but there was no way-- I'd have gotten nightmares!

So it's the weekend again and of course, I have no plans. I might go and see a movie, more from boredom than anything else. Sigh. Maybe something exciting will pop up, you just never know!
