October 27, 1999 - Wednesday
Today was an interesting day. I had a lot of classes - 7 and they generally went
well. I got out of the school before 10:30, I'm thrilled to be able to report.
I got a call from one of my bosses today, praising the work I've done as Area Coordinator.
She told me that no-one thought I would do such a good job. That's good, I guess,
but if they had their doubts, why did they give me the job???
Also I've been having an e-mail fight with my sister over the Teletubbies. She wants
to paint her daughter's room the four Teletubby colours, each wall a different colour.
I think she's nuts, but it is her house, so what can I say??? I told her that I
don't think it's a good idea, but on the other hand, so what. What does my opinion
matter anyway?
Did anyone else think that the plane accident that killed the golfer Payne Stewart
sounded a little Stephen King-ish? I know it was a terrible accident, but it really
reminded me of the story "The Langoliers". The plane flying for hours with no-one
in control and all that. A bit strange. Golf isn't my favourite sport, but I'm not in
anyway trying to trivialize the event. He seemed like a nice guy.
It is pouring with rain now. Sigh. I should probably post this and get myself into
bed for a longer sleep. That would be cool!
Did anyone else feel the earthquake last night? It shook my apartment for about 30
seconds. It wasn't terribly strong, but a definite quake.
Last night, just as I was about to go to bed I was watching a French programme with Jane Birkin. It was cool. All of a sudden though they started singing in English. It was my old idol, David Essex, in all his late 60's or early 70's glory. Oh my gosh. His eyes were more sparkly than Brad Pitt's. He isn't so cute now, but , Mama!!
Also, I did mail my packages. Yay!
À demain.
